Energy-saving opportunity
An achievable energy saving of up to 40% on all the lighting currently installed globally would saveEUR 106 billion in energy costs per year.
This equates to 555 million tonnes of CO2 per year; 1.5 billion barrels of oil per year and an annual output of 530 medium sized power stations @ 2TWh/yr.
