USA - LiveViewGPS (www.mobilephonelocate.com) has launched Mobile Phone Locate, a next-generation service that transforms a cell phone into a 24-hour safety location device for families and business.
“A tracker delivers continuous updates every few seconds so you can follow someone’s progress online. That does require an additional device like our Live Trac EZ or PT-10 GPS Trackers.”
Mobile Phone Locate capitalizes on the state-of-the-art location technology already built into cell phones to instantly locate single or multiple phones. It uses both GPS and cell network data to ensure fast, accurate locates for discreet monitoring when and where it’s needed. Because location accuracy is dependent on a variety of criteria such as cell phone reception, GPS settings, environmental conditions and more, results can vary from a few feet to several thousand feet.
After signing up at http://mobilephonelocate.com, users select a locate plan and register the phone(s) they want to locate. An SMS text is sent to the target phone(s) requesting a reply. Once the phone user(s) opt in, the Mobile Phone Locater service is immediately activated. With a single click the target phone’s location is displayed on a high-resolution graphic or satellite view map. There is no software to install, no battery draining app to download, no expensive devices to buy and no contract to sign.
“Most location services require you to buy a device that can cost over $100,” explained George Karonis, CEO of LiveViewGPS. “Why carry two devices when you already have a cell phone? And why should you pay between $12.95 and $21.95 a month when our service only costs $7.95?”
Karonis is quick to point out the new LiveViewGPS service is for locating, not tracking. “A locator shows you where someone is at that moment,” he continued. “A tracker delivers continuous updates every few seconds so you can follow someone’s progress online. That does require an additional device like our Live Trac EZ or PT-10 GPS Trackers.”
The Mobile Phone Locate service works with Tier 1 carriers in North America including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint PCS and Verizon in the United States; and Rogers and Telus in Canada. More countries will be added as they become available.
Because privacy is an important issue, the service’s opt-in process follows CTIA best practices and guidelines for location-based services, which is why LiveViewGPS was able to gain approval from Tier 1 carriers in North America. The location information exchanged is SSL encrypted on secure servers to ensure it remains private. Targeted users can opt-out at any time.
Currently there are two payment plans.
• The flexible pay-as-you-go plan is $19.95 per month for 30 locates and is valid for 90 days.
• The monthly plan offers 50 locates per month for $7.95.
