UK - iTrinegy ( http://www.itrinegy.com ), a specialist for the Networked application Performance Lifecycle™ experts, announced a new addition to their Network Emulator family, iTrinegy INE-LCD.
iTrinegy INE-LCD is a revolution in portable network emulation and network application testing on-the-go and is ideal for purchasers, sales and pre-sales field-based specialists wanting to show how an application/device will work in a realistic WAN.
The standalone, all-in-one emulation device was initially developed for ‘show and tell’ situations out in the field. INE-LCD eliminates the need for a keyboard, monitor and mouse, as all its settings are viewed via a front LCD screen with “car radio style” push buttons being used to choose pre-defined or programmable conditions needed to test any application in a realistic replication of the WAN/LAN.
Vendors of application accelerators or software products can, for the first time, use a single, fully self-contained network emulator to show how their products work in the WAN. All they need to do is set the network conditions that impact the application running through INE-LCD. So now developers, testers and pre-sales can conduct real time checks, out in the field, and view how applications perform in wide area, remote or wireless networks.
"We believe we have developed the most sophisticated and truly self-contained mobile emulator to date’ said Frank Puranik, Product Director for iTrinegy. ‘It’s around the size of a car radio and is as simple to use, as we designed it for ease-of-use with the setting of features such as bandwidth, loss and delay, all achieved by pressing of a few buttons, and hey-presto you get your emulation running."
INE- LCD is unique in that users can perform all operations from its front panel: run predefined network scenarios, or manually set bandwidth, loss, and delay. It is also possible to view throughput (packets/sec, bits/sec) on the front LCD panel.
INE-LCD allows users to recreate all the major conditions that can affect applications in the network such as Link Speed, e.g. T1, E1, Modem, (A)DSL, GPRS, 3G, WiMAX, Satellite, latency (delay), jitter, bandwidth, packet loss/error/reordering etc, and can be controlled asymmetrically or symmetrically.
‘iTrinegy’s goal has always been to provide, at affordable prices, tools that address the complete network application and performance life-cycle and we are really excited by our latest edition -INE- LCD.’ said Terry McNicholas, Head of iTrinegy-Americas.
"The LCD screen, combined with the ability to download a wide range of pre-defined network scenarios onto it from iTrinegy, means that you don’t need to be a network specialist to use INE-LCD for application testing. When selling WAN acceleration products and demonstrating them in front of a customer, INE-LCD shows how this acceleration is achieved for an application."
Terry goes on to say ‘It also has applicability in end customer organizations for those who are looking for a very straightforward and fool-proof WAN/LAN emulator, as part of their application purchasing validation process’.
INE- LCD is aimed at anyone interested in the behaviour of their applications including: Network Specialists, IT Purchasers, Sales, Pre-Sales, Professional developers, Testers and field operatives. INE- LCD is also part of a ‘suite’ of products that are used in full multi-user, multi-site tests for many world-wide organisations.
