USA - The Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA; www.CE.org)® Innovation Movement launched its first gadget giveaway sweepstakes to celebrate some of the greatest consumer technology products launched by innovative American companies.

Each week (from July 26 through November 1, 2010), the Innovation Movement will give away, to one of the consumers who join, a  technology product that represents the best of American innovation in the technology sector, a vital contributor to the U.S. economy.

“We are fortunate to live in a great nation where entrepreneurs can launch their ideas in a competitive marketplace that allows the best innovations to succeed,” said Jason Oxman, senior vice president of Industry Affairs, CEA. “This sweepstakes is a way for us to invite consumers to rally together to celebrate the products they love and support the policies that make such innovation possible.”

The sweepstakes is part of the Innovation Movement, a national grassroots campaign founded by CEA to rally Americans around the belief that innovation and entrepreneurship are essential to the U.S. economic recovery and domestic job creation. The campaign today has more than 60,000 individual members.

The products featured in the sweepstakes will change each week. CEA selected the Amazon KindleTM as the first featured product because of the tremendous innovation the product has brought to the eReader market. CEA forecasts that in 2010 the eReader category will grow nearly five times its size over last year.

Future giveaways will include the Apple® iPadTM, Livio® Radio Featuring Pandora®, Monster® HeartbeatsTM by Lady Gaga High Performance In-Ear Headphones, PowermatTM Home & Office Mat, Polk Audio® SurroundBar® 3000 Instant Home TheaterTM, among others.
